Just kidding, BUT with 40 more epidoses of @midnight ordered, that IS 480 (40 x 4 x 3) more spots for comedians to riff and shine with Chris Hardwick. So, it's not 480, but here are my suggestions for some great shows I would certainly love to see.
Pete Holmes Tournament of Champions Week - Between the writers and other funny staff members, they could easily have a three episode playoffs with a Championship Round on Thursday. And it would be a big win for everyone, the first @midnight cliffhanger and some fun late night crossover/cross-promotion.
I realize for the rest of these, I don't really need to group them, that's not at all how they do it, but humor me.
Ultimate Hashtag Warriors - Nick Youssef, John Roy and Eli Olsberg - Okay, Mike Lawrence is the king of #HashtagWars, but he was already on one of the first episodes, so why not give these guys who crush it every night online a chance to crush it on screen?
Returning Favorites - But let's not punish Mike for being great in the first run. He should come back on, so should Neal Brennan, Doug Benson, Kyle Kinane, Moshe Kasher and Ron Funches.
Trash Talkers - Sam Tripoli, Ari Shaffir, Jayson Thibault - Sam is the undisputed trash talk king of the LA adult rec comedy basketball league, but Ari & Teeb give him a good run for his money on their sports podcast PunchDrunk. It would be fun to see that brotherly rivalry play out on the show.
Hot Comic on Comic Action - Ian Edwards, Steve Rannazzisi, Tony Hinchcliffe - Steve, Ian and Tony are some of my favorite people to watch other comedians with (also, Stuart Thompson) because when they don't like what they're hearing, they judge harshly and hilariously but when they like what's going on onstage, they let everyone in the room know with great laughs. Any one of them would be a great addition to any episode of @midnight, but all three together would be almost too much fun.
Bonkers - Andrew Santino, Rick Glassman, Adam Ray - This would be the episode most likely to go off the rails within the first 5 minutes and probably the most fun if you're stoned watching at home.
Eric Andre Show Night - Eric Andre, Hannibal Buress, Byron Bowers - Another fun crossover would be with the guys from The Eric Andre Show. Pretty sure I don't have to explain why. And it would probably give the previous suggestion a run for its money for who gets to Off The Rails first.
The Professor and Mary Anne - Okay, enough cutesy groupings, but there are plenty more great comedians who'd crush it on the show like Sarah Tiana, Whitney Cummings, Leslie Jones, Brent Morin, Kurt Metzger, Big Jay Oakerson, Theo Von, Justin Martindale, Sean O'Connor, Jay Larson, The Walsh Brothers... okay I'm gonna stop now or I will get to 480.
