Happy New Year!

Judging by the crowds I've been seeing around town this week, everybody wants to go out and laugh right now.  So where to go?  Try these amazing shows this coming week.

Monday:  MARINO MONDAY at The Comedy Store. 7 pm.  Erik Marino hosts the first half of Potluck at the Comedy Store.  FREE Before 9.  And, hey, what a coincidence, Potluck is one of my Picks of the Month!

Tuesday: Lower Crust Comedy @ Ghengis Cohen (740N  Fairfax) - $6 - 9 pm - Lower Crust attracts some of the most talented comics in town and the first show of 2011 is no exception -  Miguel Fierro, Jerrod Carmichael, Brenda Colonna, Taylor Ketchum and a few surprise guests.

Wednesday: Meltdown Show @ Meltdown Comics - $8 (buy online) - 8:30 pm - Jonah Ray & Kumail Najiani host this weekly show featuring some of the smartest, funniest and sometimes weirdest comics around.  This week has Jacki Kashian, Maria Bamford and more!  Free beer with admission and good eats from the Grilled Cheese Truck.

Thursday: Fifty First Jokes @ Zephyr Theater - $5 with RSVP - 9 pm - Rob O'Reilly and Margie Kment host this night of a bazillion comics (okay, fifty, like the event title says) trying out their new Baby New Year jokes on you.

Friday: Norm McDonald at the Hollywood Improv - $20 (buy online) - Norm's doing 3 shows this weekend, but I recommend the early show Friday to beat the crowds and have an awesome seat.

Saturday: Dave Attell at the Irvine Improv - $25 (buy online)  One of my favorite comics, well worth the drive.
