This is one of the most fun stand-up shows in LA for everyone involved - comedians love performing on it, comedy nerds love watching it and regular old drunks looking for a good time enjoy the free beer and license to basically heckle.  Don't let the word "Improvised" fool you, this is real stand-up, but instead of doing a prepared set, the comedians must react to suggestions from the audience - either making up completely new material on the spot or reaching back into their memory banks for a shred of an old discarded or retired bit to build from.

The participation and spontenaity make for a really fun atmosphere throughout the whole show, with the comedians often joining the audience to help/torture the rest of the line-up during their sets.

At Rant LA Theater in Hollywood and additional shows throughout the region. StandupOnTheSpot.com for more info.

So, we're gonna turn our house into a comedy club once a month, what do you say, guys?  The first time I went to Comedy Living Room, Jerrod Carmichael popped in and joked "This isn't underground anymore!  You guys are gonna be too big for me soon!"  Jerrod's silly modesty aside, Comedy Living Room is a surprisingly professional type show for being at a house.  The stage and main seating are in the Living Room, with live feeds to TVs in the kitchen and back patio so more people can enjoy.  The booking is pretty stellar, recent performers include Pete Holmes, Kyle Kinane, James Adomian and Brody Stevens and there's little-to-no filler in the lineup.

The crowd skews young (I mean, we're sitting on folding chairs in someone's living room here) and very comedy literate.  Depending on how cool your mom is, this may not be the place to bring her when she's in town, but it's a great choice for a fun night with friends.

Located near Cherokee & Melrose in Hollwood - follow @comedylivinroom for dates and info.

Sam Tripoli serves as ringmaster for this variety show straight from Sodom & Gomorrah.

The evening always begins with a jaw-dropping pole dance from some of the best in the business.  Special guests like Doug Benson, Steve Rannazzisi, Margaret Cho, Freddy Lockhart and Nick Swardson rock the crowd with kick-ass comedy while the regular troupe of Naughty performers (including Jayson Thibault, Danielle Stewart, Skippy Simon, Nader, Tony Hinchcliffe and Esther Povitzky) tie the night together with sketches and videos featuring brilliantly entertaining characters like Bunny Fever, Shawarma the Ass Eating Persian and Sticky Fingers Gonzales.  Portstars and Penthouse pets grace the stage for often good-naturedly hilarious interviews as they receive the Golden Schlong Award or get inducted into the Naughty Hall of Fame.  Monthly at the Hollywood Improv and if you can't make it or just need to scratch the Naughty itch in between, check out the YouTube Channel.
